I liked the staff and the way we were treated right up to leaving. We dealt with a man who was not friendly and did nothing when we told him the internet we paid for did not work. We liked the parking and the room was fine. Also breakfast and the lady who ran it were excellent.

The Hotel San Marco is excellent in all respects. The staff were pleasant and helpful; the rooms were a good size, well appointed, quiet and spotlessly clean; breakfast was very good by Italian standards. The hotel is not in the centre of Siena but it is really only 20 minutes walk to get to the walls and then another 5 minutes to get to the centre. Get a decent map before you come and work out the shortest route. The walk is uphill but, hey - Siena is a hill town! There are two restaurants close by - we went to the cheaper one which was fine. If you are coming from the A1 on autostrada, you need to follow the signs to the Siena Tangenziale Ovest and then come off at Siena Ovest. All in all, I very strongly recommend this hotel.

Staff friendliness and helpfulness was of a very high standard. The bedroom was kept very clean with punctual maid service. Pastries at breakfast were a treat.

Friendly and helpful staff at reception and in breakfast area. Clean modern rooms. Tasty fresh breakfast - fresh bread, variety of fresh pastries (chocolate filled croissants are excellent!), cold cuts/cheese, yogurt, jams, cereal.
